Maintenance

Procedures and policies for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities

Response

Staff Council committees for the upkeep of facilities are formulated each year.

    Building and Maintenance Committee

    The Building Committee is constituted by the staff council and represented by the Governing
    Body members of the college. It’s responsible for adding new academic infrastructure as well as maintenance of facilities in the college as per the needs of the departments/college. It includes civil, electrical and plumbing works in the college, whitewashing, and other repair works.

    Purchase Committee

    The purchase committee review technical details and acquisition by the GEM portal.

    Garden Committee

    It comprises of one convener, a faculty member from botany / horticulture background and at least two resident teachers from the campus. The College has a team of efficient and experienced  gardeners for maintaining the lawns and flora in the campus on a regular basis. Plantation of  seasonal trees, vegetables and flowering plants is carried in the college regularly.

    Library Advisory Committee

    College Library Advisory Committee includes all heads of departments, Vice Principal,  Computer Centre coordinator and two representatives of staff council. Most purchase of books and journals are reviewed annually and made according to the budget. Issue and up-gradation of library facilities are decided in this committee.

    Computer Resource Centre Committee

    There is a coordinator for the computer resource centre who monitors use and maintenance of computer in two central labs and departments in college. There is a website coordinator tomanage and look into information sharing and uploading on college website. The fibre optic cables have been laid to every department from the centre for connectivity.

    Website Committee

    The website committee launched a new website designed to meet the NAAC and NIRF requirements and is updated concurrently with new information.

    Academic Committee

    It reviews and mandates the teaching-learning process. During the pandemic, it monitored the online teaching.

    Time Table Committee

    It makes the UG timetables in accordance with the academic calendar and college venue requirements.

    Information Communication and Technology Committee

    During the pandemic, Information Communication and Technology committee enabled faculty and students’ institutional mail ID, Whatsapp groups, e-learning platform training and webinar support.

    COVID Taskforce 

    As per DU mandate, the COVID Taskforce committee was constituted during the Pandemic. It mandated frequent sanitization of facilities, maintenance of hygiene, purchase of materials to maintainCOVID appropriate behavior, and record upkeep of vaccination records for faculty, and non-teaching personnel. SOPs were laid down for offline classes.
