The department (under the aegis of Department of Home Science) offers PhD programme focusing on a wide range of areas in the fields of resource management and design application. Some of the areas of research include management of personal, community and shared resources, developing sustainable products employing circular approach to design, energy policy, product and interior design for commercial, institutional and residential applications, indoor environmental quality, space planning and designing, sustainability in design, energy efficiency in lighting, ergonomic design of space, furniture and equipment, green buildings and audit, design audit, energy conservation & audit, facilities management & audit, renewable energy, capacity building of youth towards sustainable development, quality life of elderly living in old age homes and with their families, entrepreneurship development, training & development, waste management and skill development.
